FutureOrb: Proximal Content Management & Delivery Tool
FutureOrb is a patented technology using AWS Cloud services, providing enhanced software technologies and algorithms to create a content management system. FutureOrb also weaves a set of heterogeneous wireless signals into an enterprise, creating a Proximal Abstraction Layer to accelerate the publication and deployment of proximal content.
FutureOrb provides on-demand workforce training and real-time proximity specific data generation relative to an individual's position to a group of wireless signals. This includes the ability for First Responders to add incident markers, images, notes, audio, and other data types.
FutureOrb also reduces lifecycle maintenance costs as well as personnel costs for deploying an adaptive training content to a complex array of locations through a Content Management System (CMS).

Case Study 1: 2017 Coastal Trident Event – Active Shooter Emergency Response
Challenges
Deploy a near-real-time CMS for First Responders during an event called Coastal Trident that allows for content to be created, managed, and delivered to mobile devices via Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) beacons and GPS lat/lon geofenced locations.
Solution
Utilize FutureOrb Proximity CMS, mobile app, and BLE devices/GPS to provide a near real-time interoperable communication method to deliver scenario-based proximal content for participating First Responders and Facility Security Officers throughout the event exercise.
Status/Results
Used successfully by First Responders to take a self-guided tour of the port, where they received proximal content related to each building (e.g., hazardous material). For the active shooter scenario, First Responders gave positive feedback on the proximal communications they received.
Case Study 2: Navy FutureOrb Proximity for STEM Learning (FO-SL)
Challenges
Naval Air Warfare Center Training Systems Division (NAWCTSD) to implement a learning environment that aligns with the Navy’s Sailor 2025 Ready Relevant Learning training program concepts
Solution
FutureOrb Proximity delivers STEM learning content “when you want it, where you want it,” a Naval Ready Relevant Learning (RRL) construct. The FO-SL project will develop and implement two new learning experiences at the Orlando Science Center (OSC) STEM Discovery Center.
Status/Results
FutureOrb Proximity successfully provided the OSC an extensible framework to promote STEM Learning Experiences across their various exhibits, at several STEM-related events, and even added value during a global pandemic — delivering engaging Learning Experiences for users to explore at their own pace with unfacilitated instruction.
